Morgan Blackwater
Ah, Morgan Blackwater. For all that he was, in the end, probably my most devestatingly powerfull character ever, I don't think I've ever played anyone weaker on the inside. Blackwater was a sorcerer who was raised by a cult devoted to the god of murder, who never intended for him to be anything but a weapon. From an early age, they hammered it into his head that whatever legacy it was that led him to posess the innate sorcerous powers that he did, predetermined that his death would be a violent one, and that he was bound from birth for a death of violence. Morgan bought it, hook line nad sinker. By the age of seventeen, he was wandering the countryside, a sword-swinging, spell-casting freak bringing violent death to anyone stupid enough to find themselves alone with him. When, after suffering a poisonous snake bite in the woods he nearly suffered n ignominious end in a sleazy motel room, he met his long-time rival and traveling companion, the Half-Orcish Barbarian, Roth, who had been hired to heal his poisoning. The two of them ended up roving the land together, spreading misery, for a time, before being drafted into an armmy that niether of them would ever have voulentarily served; a vast, inter-planar force which put them into a unit which included a handfull of other freaks and monsters and told them to conquer a planet in their masters' name, or else face a fate much, much worse than death. Horribly, that planet was Oerth, the setting of Greyhawk. After their commanding officer was killed in touchdown upon this world, the gang was left to their own devices, held to their own mission only by the fear of the "fate much , much worse than death" the four of them spent the next year unleashing a swarm of demons upon a pleasant, god-fearing land, creating a self-sustaining death-cult in that nation's capital, spreading a plague throughout a number of neighboring cities, turning another city into their personal under army, and turning a wizard's keep into their personal; headquarters, they were well on their way. It was at around this time that Morgan was chosen as the Champion of Nerull; the one and only Paladin of the god of murder of his generation. He instantaneously accepted, the willing slave of his god that he was, and soon raised an army to spread fear and discord accross the globe. Sadly, that was around the time the game came to an end. I like to think that Morgan and his crew are still out there, on the world of Oerth, and that by now, half the planet belongs to them, because as far as I'm involved, his story is now over.
