I dreamed that my friend Karin lived in a castle.
This castle is a recurring image in my dreams; it's tall, and somewhat mushroom shaped; flaring out about halfway up it's height, with butresses seemingly holding the over-hanging part up. It's surrounded by a moat, and always appears out in the wilderness, far from any other building. Never, in any of the dreams I can remember it appearing in, have I lived in it.
In this dream, I was visiting Karin, along with the rest of our social circle; Ryan, Rene, and Colin. This castle belonged to Karin's father in this dream, but although he was a powerful man, I sensed, he wasn't royalty or anything; just rich and flamboyant. Given that I've never met Karin's father, nor heard her talk about him, this is a little out of the blue. At any event, he was away from the place for the weekend, and we had the run of the place.
There was much running and clowning around in this place, which had huge, open spaces all throughout it, and I seem to recall some surreal antics involving running around on walls and ceilings in a manner most unconcerned with gravity.
At some point, Karin and I settled down to do some body painting, and I covered her in this bizarre sky-blue, chalk-white and sunflower-yellow design which struck me, even in the context of the dream as fairly unappealing. I snapped some pictures for posterity, and that, as far as I was concerned, was that.
Karin went off to get cleaned and dressed, and the rest of us went off to my place, which in this dream was in all ways identical to my grandmother's old home, and more specifically, the lower floor of it. There, my girlfriend Moriya greeted us, and we all sat about to talk, shoot the shit and such. Suddenly, though, Karin came in, still naked and covered in my body painting, though by now it had flaked considerably. She sat down, and then did her little disingenuous laugh as she acted embarrassed to have shown up in such a state. Moriya glowered furiously at this display, as she loathes Karin with all her heart, and cannot bear thje thought of my painting her. I slapped my forehead, and asked Karin "Why must you go out of your way to make my life difficult like this?"
Then I woke up.
